The Knights of Columbus held their annual BBQ fundraiser event on Saturday, November 8th, 2014. The weather was great.....not too hot and not too cold. Silent Auction items were few in quantity this year as compared to previous Silent Auctions. In lieu of this, a big ticket item helped to save the day.....a Zero Turn Mower was raffled off. Some of the noteworthy items at the Silent Auction were Father Steve’s homemade rosary, the Lindale ISD Future Farmers of America’s Welding class donation of a fire pit, and Mea’s Nursery donating 6 one gallon Double Knock-Out Roses. A big thanks to Father Steve’s for once again donating a home cooked meal which went up for bid. In summary, the Silent Auction, along with the BBQ Chicken dinner sales, and Father Steve’s famous home cooked meal bid helped the Knights once again meet their annual goal of donating to the East Texas Food Bank, the High School Scholarship Program, and to the East Texas Special Olympics.
